Not really much to update. No typing. No readthrough. I did get back to back manga shipments, so I have some stuff to read. I haven't been getting out of the office in time lately though. I haven't caught up with my JUMP either. 😅 I go 'I should give it a couple weeks to get more chapters' but when you have a handful of titles that turns into a half day/all day reading endeavor. Yet, I still don't learn. I like reading and all, but it does take time. But, watch that I end up reading every manga (in English at least) that I own and knocking out a couple Baccano! before I can wrap my head around typing again. I said it in the random (slightly exhausted) livestream with the chicks, but there is no chapter May 4th either. And, if I'm being totally straight, there isn't one for May 11th and May 18th is sketchy too. I should be able to find time to record a SST for May 5th though. I'm thinking I'll do a character expose on Branch, but it might be fun to do a worldbuilding/research post. Kind of like a teaser of what would be mentioned as some background noise in the chapter that is eventually coming. (Which if I'm honest, part of the reason--other than Ebina randomly making me unfocused and sad--Rebs is a struggle is because the worldbuilding is too much and I'm trying to figure out the balance of what's shown vs not needed to be shown. Something I should've done before I started this draft. This is what happens when you're a weirdo child who collected historical trends and go 'what if this one repeats again' and try to set it to fiction, I guess. 🙃)

Other news! The chicks are doing their job of keeping me focused on something other than how I'm not typing. All 10 are going good. I have to clean their brooder today. It's going to be such a pain. You can have chickens in a cul-d-sac, and you can brood them for a few weeks in a mostly unused second floor bathroom. But you're jumping through some strange additional hoops when it comes to cleaning than if they were outside in a heated coop on an acre or two of land. I'm still trying to figure out if I'm scooping the shaving into a trash bag to carry out to the garbage can in the garage, or sweeping them in, or a combo. And I need to do the cleaning now because garbage day is early Tuesday. Weekends are busy and Monday is... Monday. So, Fridays I guess are clean the chickens day. Their water container leaked and soaked half the shavings last night. If I lived in the country, or if they were outside, I could've switched out all the bedding at 11pm when I noticed. But, instead, I tossed in more handfuls of shavings to pile on what I have to throw away today. 😆😅😆

Finally, Ebina. She's still full of spunk but she does have days when she just doesn't want to eat. And because she's always been finicky, it's impossible to know if that's her disease or just her being picky. Yesterday and this morning, she has no appetite. She eventually ate throughout the day, and she ate dinner. I'm hoping today is the same. I went out and bought her more kidney safe foods to add to her dog food to stretch the bag. Apparently, the bag is only 17 pounds, and that's about two weeks for her. $80 every two weeks adds up. The positive is she doesn't seem to be having an allergic reaction to it, so I can keep her on this food. The kidney food for food allergies is very hard to get. It runs at $100 for 17 pounds from the manufacturer and at vet offices (all which are backordered), but because of the difficultly, Amazon charges something like $185 for 7 pounds ($245 for 17 pounds). Which... buying up a stock of this food and jacking the price up that much is not right. It's not just because people can't afford that, but because this is a very specialized vet diet which already limits production and consumers, and dog food does go bad. So, Amazon buys out the stock, jacks up the price, and essentially has the food sit to mold (which a couple the people that did buy some have testified to opening bags of mold). Cronyism at the finest. So, yeah, I'm glad Ebina isn't having a reaction. I would honestly just make her food if she started to. I work out of the home office, so I'm in the position where I can do plenty of stuff during lulls, but most other people don't get that option. Ebina does also have days when she feels very hot, like fever type hot, and exhausted spells. I'm going 'is the calm/tired because you're sick or because at 1.5 years you should be mellowing'. It's just all a guessing game.

Alright, this weekend is a storming mess both days (into next week I think). So... other than buying stuff for the chicks, I'm probably not doing anything. I want to talk Ebina to one of the state parks soon before it gets unbearably hot. I did get her to go hiking and stuff with me. Last year was just too hot, and my sister's in-laws were here every weekend, so she couldn't go. (They're starting to come every weekend again already. 🙄)
